Supporting families across Canada

The Love For Lewiston Foundation is proud to support families across Canada and the critical needs and challenges they face. Because of generous donations, sponsors, and volunteers, we have been able to support the SMA Community across Canada and The Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation where Lewiston received his care. The funds given support needs such as physiotherapy, respite care, specialty power-chairs, power chairs for recreational sports, accessible vehicles, shower chairs, in-home elevators and much more so that families can access their full home and keep on moving.

Newborn Screening

We don’t just fund support; we fund systemic change. Our most significant legacy is the advocacy and capital that helped bridge the gap for Newborn Screening for SMA in Canada. By securing screening at birth, we shifted the paradigm from reactive care to proactive, life-altering intervention. Before this movement, families waited months—often years—for a diagnosis while the disease progressed unchecked. Today, children are being identified at birth and receiving treatment before they ever miss a milestone. We are quite literally changing the trajectory of human lives.
